Personal Life

Ashlee Simpson's personal life and the recording of her first album, Autobiography, was immortalized on the MTV reality show, The Ashlee Simpson Show. In June 2004, Ashlee began dating fellow musician Ryan Cabrera, and their on-tour relationship was chronicled on the show. The two broke up allegedly due to their busy tour schedules but reunited briefly before calling it quits for good in early 2005. In January 2005, Ashlee was spotted partying with and kissing Wilmer Valderrama, the ex boyfriend of her frenemy Lindsay Lohan. Then she dated musician Braxton Olita. Ashlee breaks up with Braxton and in February 2007 begins dating Fall Out Boy bassist Pete Wentz. The couple is engaged in April 2008, amid rumors that Ashlee is pregnant. The couple marries in May and finally confirms the baby rumors. It is not known whether she will sound au-natural during her labor and delivery, or if she will simply lip sync to attractive-sounding screams and wails.

Career

After a brief role on the WB drama 7th Heaven, Ashlee had a small role in the movie The Hot Chick. She landed a record deal with Geffen after recording one track for Lindsay Lohan's Freaky Friday soundtrack. Her first album, Autobiography, hits number one on the billboard charts. But Ashlee faces some great controversy when she appears on Saturday Night Live and a prerecorded track plays instead of her singing. She blames the snafu on acid reflux. Three months later, she is booed while performing at the Orange Bowl in Miami. Her second album, I Am Me fares extremely well despite all of the negative press. Her third album, Bittersweet World, has just been released.

Plastic Surgery

Even though her unique schnozz was beloved by some of her fans, Ashlee had a much publicized nose job, which she denied. Ironically, the month she had the plastic surgery was the month she appeared in Allure magazine proclaiming how good it is to accept your body. The surgery wasn't confirmed until a year later by Simpson's dad and manager, Joe: "Girls have their own ideas. Anyway, there was a real problem with her breathing and that was cured."
