Former Mouseketeer Christina Aguilera has evolved into a pop princess with the looks of an old-fashioned pinup girl.
Career
In 1999, Aguilera blazed onto the music scene with her hit song, ‘’Genie in a Bottle’’. Aguilera’s sexy style and seductive gyrations immediately pegged her as a sex kitten. Her self-titled debut sold extremely well, but Aguilera desired greater input in her music and greater say over her public image. Aguilera beat out Britney Spears for the Best New Artist Grammy in 2000. Since then, she has belted out hit after hit, including Lady Marmalade and Beautiful.
In October 2000 Aguilera filed suit against her manager, Steve Kurtz, citing his undue influence over her creative direction and fraud. She found new representation in Irving Azoff and she achieved more independence her next album, 2002’s ‘’Stripped’’. This album introduced the ‘’drrty’’, chaps-sporting personality of X-tina, the nickname Aguilera has tattooed in large letters on the back of her neck. In 2006, Aguilera released ‘’Back to Basics’’.
Personal Life
Despite her dirty persona, Xtina has usually had a relatively stable personal life. She became engaged to music executive Jordan Bratman in February 2005. Christina was given a ring designed by the London-based jeweler Stephen Webster. She married Bratman in a star-studded three-day ceremony that November at the Staglin Family Vineyards. Sharon Stone was among the guests attending. In 2007, Paris Hilton announced to a packed club that Aguliera and Bratman were expecting their first child. In November, Christina confirmed the pregnancy herself and soon appeared nearly naked on the cover of Marie Claire magazine. Christina gave birth to son Max Liron on January 12, 2008.
