Heidi Montag started out as a blonde, cute, but plain star on the MTV faux-reality show The Hills. Then she went full circle and got the works from a plastic surgeon. She even went so far as to sell her exclusive story to Us Weekly magazine.

Many gossip columns called her "desperate" and chided her for her lack of self confidence when she sold her story to Us Weekly and allowed them to photograph the star after her surgery. She had both a significant breast enlargement and a nose job. She said that boys and others had made fun of her for her flat chest and larger than life ski-slope nose. She said she felt insecure when with boyfriends and was "tormented" by her body. Many stars go under the knife, but rarely so publicly and with so much pride as Heidi.
Of course Heidi's former BFF, Lauren Conrad had a word to say on the issue, “I don’t think revenge is a good reason to get plastic surgery,” Lauren smiled. “If you get plastic surgery, it should be for yourself.”

A photo of Heidi Montag circulated in January 2008 speculating that she had underwent some kind of lip enhancement surgery, or cosmetic injections. This was after Heidi sold her story of a breast enhancement and nose job to Us Weekly magazine.
