Help:Why create an account?
From WhatRumors: The Celebrity Gossip Wiki
|
Creating an account is free and easy. It also provides several benefits that anonymous, non-logged in users do not have, which will make editing and participating more fun.
A way of making yourself known
Creating an account allows you to become your own gossip maven. You'll be able to write your own gossip articles and share them with others.
You'll also have access to your personal user profile which you can customize with pictures, links and information about yourself. It also gives you a message board to interact with other users. When others leave messages for you on your message board, a notification message is emailed to you, letting you know that someone has a note for you. Being able to gossip with others creates a quick network for finding the hottest celebrity gossip and building up to date articles.
Points, contests and prizes
WhatRumors runs contests for users from time to time. If you have an account, you're eligible to win when you get the most points. Points are accumulated by doing different actions on the site. To see your point total, just check the top of your user page. Click on your point total to see the User Levels and find out how you compare to others on the site by checking out the Top Users
Some of the ways to earn points are, adding an avatar, adding friends and foes, uploading images and of course adding to and creating gossip articles.
