Singing
Duff’s first album was the soundtrack to ‘’The Lizzie McGuire Movie’’, which went platinum. Her second album and first studio album, ‘’Metamorphosis’’, was released in 2003, reaching number one on the American and Canadian charts. She cowrote some songs on her third album, the self-titled ‘’Hilary Duff’’. Duff cowrote all the material on her fourth studio album, ‘’Dignity’’.
Acting
Duff began portraying the title character on the Disney Channel’s ‘’Lizzie McGuire’’ in 2001. She reprised her role in ‘’The Lizzie McGuire Movie’’ in 2003. Duff went on to star in a variety of feature film roles, including ‘’Agent Cody Banks’’ with Frankie Muniz, ‘’Cheaper By The Dozen’’, ‘’A Cinderella Story’’ and ‘’The Perfect Man,’’ with Heather Locklear.
Products
Duff created the ‘’Stuff by Hilary Duff’’ clothing line in 2004. The line sold at Target stores in the United States and include clothing, furniture, fragrances, jewelry, makeup and accessories. In September 2006, Duff released a perfume with Elizabeth Arden.

Duff was born in Houston, Texas, the second daughter of Susan and Robert Duff. Duff’s mother encouraged both Hilary and her older sister Haylie to take acting classes at a young age. They participated in ballet and received parts in local theater. As the girls grew more enthusiastic about their careers, they moved with their mother to Los Angeles, California, where they were cast in a number of commercials.
Relationships
Hilary Duff met Aaron Carter on the set of her show, ‘’Lizzie McGuire’’, in 2001. They began to date, and the relationship lasted for two years. After the first year and a half of the relationship, 14-year-old Carter “got bored” and “started getting to know Lindsay Lohan, dating Lindsay.” Then he started dating Duff again, only to cheat on her with her best friend. Duff and Lohan were reportedly in a feud for years after the Carter tryst, with Lohan claiming that she called Hilary to hang out only to be hung up on by Haylie Duff. The girls finally reconciled in 2007, with Lohan attending the release party for Duff’s album, ‘’Dignity’’.
In 2004, Duff began dating the singer of Good Charlotte, Joel Madden. They dated for two years and broke up in November of 2006. Madden started dating socialite Nicole Richie just a month later.
In 2007, Duff began a relationship with NHL player Mike Comrie. Duff was seen hugging and kissing Comrie, and attending some of his games. He purchased a $100,000 vehicle for Duff for her birthday. She defended him against vicious rumors that he was sleeping with the wife of one of his teammates. The couple has been seen in public since these rumors.
