Childhood

Jessica Simpson was born in Abilene, Texas. She began her career singing at her local Baptist church. She auditioned for the Mickey Mouse Club at age 12 and made it to the finals. She dropped out of high school at the age of sixteen after releasing a self-titled gospel album, which failed to make an impact on the US charts.

Relationships

Simpson was married to former 98 Degrees band member Nick Lachey. She made a vow to her father when she was 12 that she would remain a virgin until her wedding night, and claims that she did indeed remain a virgin until her October 2002 marriage to Lachey. In November 2005, Simpson and Lachey announced that they were separating. A month later, Simpson filed for divorce, citing "irreconcilable differences." Since then, Simpson has been romantically linked with a number of celebrities, beginning with her Employee of the Month costar Dane Cook. The couple reportedly heated up hotspot Hyde and "couldn't hide their feelings for one another." Simpson also reportedly had a relationship with Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine, which allegedly began while she was still married to Lachey. She also reportedly dated Dukes of Hazzard costar Johnny Knoxville. She started dating musician John Mayer in August 2006. Even Simpson's father, Joe, supported the relationship. "I love John Mayer," he said. "I love his music. I love his talent. The last time he was at the House of Blues in L.A., I went by myself to see him play. If my daughter's happy, then I'm happy. And if she finds love, then I'm in love with the fact that she finds happiness. It's been a tough year for her. A lot of disappointment. And my greatest joy as a father is to see my baby be happy." The relationship with Mayer lasted for nine months. Simpson is currently dating Dallas Cowboys player Tony Romo, who has previously been linked to songstress Carrie Underwood and actress Sophia Bush. Romo denied reports that Joe Simpson, Jessica's dad, meddled with their relationship, calling the rumors "laughable."

Plastic Surgery

Although she has denied having had any plastic surgery, Simpson appears to have had rhinoplasty and an eyelid lift. She did, however, admit to having her lips plumped with Restylane, a move she regretted. "I had that Restylane stuff. It looked fake to me and I didn't like that. The trouble is that it takes a while to go away, but now my lips are getting back to how they used to look, thank God."

Career

Simpson's career began to sizzle in 1999 with the release of her hit single "I Wanna Love You Forever," which peaked at number 3 on the Billboard charts. Not long after the release of this single, Jessica began to tour with the boy band 98 Degrees, which included her future husband Nick Lachey. Her debut album Sweet Kisses went double platinum, and she followed this success up with the equally successful Irresistable. Since then, Simpson has remained a fixture on the music scene but has also branched out into a film career. She starred in The Dukes of Hazzard as sexy cousin Daisy Duke, and followed this up with a role in Employee of the Month. Simpson is also a self-confessd big fan of magic, and has appeared several times as a celebrity guest assistant to a number of different magicians. Although she has participated in a number of different illusions, she admits that her favorite is Sawing a Woman in Half, which she has taken part in several times.
