Suri Cruise is the first daughter of Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes. Suri has been making tabloid headlines since before she was born with the controversy surrounding Holmes' pregnancy, and the publicizing of the Scientology practice of "silent birth". Soon after she was born there was speculation as to whether Suri even existed as there were no pictures of her for a few months after she was born.

The Name
Pretty much everyone has a different idea of what the hell is going on with the name Suri. One's interpretation of the name usually has something to do with how much one likes Tom Cruise.
- According to Babynames.com "Suri" is a different transliteration of "Souri" which means "Red Rose" in Persian.
- Tom usually clings to "Suri = Princess in Hebrew", but this is unlikely to be correct.
- If you think Tom is an idiot, it is notable that in Japanese, "Suri" means pickpocket, and Suri is also the name of a South American breed of alpaca.
- If you think Tom is a crazy zealot it might be of note that Scientology's founder, L. Ron Hubbard, made his home in Surrey, England.
Growing Up
As Suri toddles her way into her Twos and Threes the tabloids are having a field day.
Suri's Bottle
Suri is still seen sucking on a baby bottle, something that professionals advise should end after infancy as it can cause dental problems.
The contents of the baby bottle are under question as well. The formula, which Suri has been drinking since birth, is a mixture of milk, barley water, and honey. Scientologists believe this to be healthier than breast milk, despite the pro-breast milk stance of almost every doctor on the planet. Suri will likely drink this until she is 5 years old.
Suri's Upbringing
Tabloids are also predicting rough waters ahead for Suri because of the way Scientologists believe children are to be handled. Essentially Scientologist parents are supposed to try and "be the child's friend" instead of an authority figure. Does this ring a bell?

Also, Katie and Tom are never supposed to tell Suri "no", and instead are expected to explain to their 2 year old why what she has done is a "wrong action".
